Types of Gears
We expertise in manufacturing
different types of gears with different performance specification
depending on the industrial applications. The basic function of the gear
is to alter the speed of the motor by converting the input of a prime
mover into an output with high torque and low RPM.
Gears are extensively used in almost every industry right from
agriculture to aerospace, from mining to paper and pulp industry. To
fulfill the varying needs of our customers, we supply gears in variety
of capacities, sizes and speed ratio. Following are the most popular
types of gears that find application in diverse industries.
Bevel gears are used to connect intersecting axes and are
available in several types. The tooth bearing faces of the gears are
conically shaped. These gears enable a change in the axes of rotation of
the respective shafts, usually by 90 degree. By using gears with
different numbers of teeth the speed of the rotation can easily be
changed. These gears are often mounted on shafts that are 90 degrees
apart, but can also be designed to work at other angles too.
Material : MS or Alloy Steel, Carbon Steel as per ASTM, BS, IS,
AISI, SAE or any as per customer requirement.
Manufacturing Capacity : 100mm to 3,000mm Outside Diameter.
Module : Upto 30 Module.
Type : Straight Type
The involute teeth of the helical gears are cut at an angle to
the face of the gear. When the teeth of the gears engage, the contact
starts from an end and gradually spreads with the rotation of the gears,
until the two teeth comes in complete contact. These gears have a big
advantage of performing the task smoothly and more quietly with less
vibration. The long and strong teeth with greater surface makes helical
gears ideal for carrying heavy loads.
Material : MS or Alloy Steel, Carbon Steel as per ASTM, BS, IS,
AISI, SAE or any as per customer requirement.
Manufacturing Capacity : 10mm to 8,500mm Outside Diameter.
Module : Upto 40 Module.
Type : Helical
Pinions gears are used to convert rotation into linear motion.
The gear system involves the use of a small round gear called pinion and
a large flat gear called rack, more the number of teeth in the pinion
gear, more is the speed of rotation. Pinion with less number of teeth
produces higher torque. The pinion is attached to the motor shaft with
glue. The rotation of pinion about a center helps the rack to move in a
straight line.
Material : MS or Alloy Steel, Carbon Steel as per ASTM, BS, IS,
AISI, SAE or any as per customer requirement.
Manufacturing Capacity : 50mm to 1,200mm Outside Diameter.
Module : Upto 15 Module.
Type : Timing Gears, Motor Gears, Traction Gears, Slewing Ring
Gears, Pump Gears- Spur or Helical.
A sprocket is a profiled wheel with metal teeth that meshes with
chain, track or other perforated material. They are mainly made of cast
iron, sintered metal, and carbon steel. The sprockets are widely used in
bicycles, motorcycles, cars, tanks, and other machinery either to
transmit rotary motion between two shafts or to impart linear motion to
a track. Sprockets are often economic, reliable drive system for long
running, continuous drive applications. This system provides maximum
absorption of shock and minimum torque load.
Material : MS or Alloy Steel, Carbon Steel as per ASTM, BS, IS,
AISI, SAE or any as per customer requirement.
Manufacturing Capacity : 10mm to 6,500mm Outside Diameter.
Pitch : Upto 8"
Type : Simplex, Duplex and Above
Worm gears are generally used when large gear reduction is
needed. Wrapped around the central axle, the worms have one or more
teeth in the form of screwed threads that rotate the gears. These gears
have an unique property, the worm can easily turn gears but gears cannot
turn worm. The friction between the two holds the worm in place. This
feature makes this gear fit for use in industrial conveyor system and in
some high performance cars and trucks.
Material : Ferrous and Non Ferrous.
Manufacturing Capacity : 10mm to 5,000mm Outside Diameter.
Type : Single, Double or Multiple Starts.
Idler gear is a wheel placed between two other gears to transmit
motion from one to another. This gear does not alter the speed of the
motion but changes the direction it turns. The use of idler gears ensure
that the rotation of the other two gears are same. These gears can also
be used to change the spacing between input and output axle without
affecting the gear ratio.
